You will become a subject-matter expert on our data platform capabilities, responsible for working with stakeholders from across the business to identify and understand their data and visualisation requirements. You will be working on behalf of your internal stakeholders as part of a cross-functional agile delivery team to meet tactical reporting and dashboarding needs of the business but importantly enable data-driven decisions.

On top of this you can expect £350 of Christmas vouchers and added extras like beer o’clock and an amazing Christmas party

What you’ll be doing

  • Developing a deep understanding of the ETL, data warehousing and reporting systems used to deliver our data platform including how it interacts with business systems and software platforms
  • Working closely with data owners across the business to understand the various types of data available across our platforms, back-office and integration systems
  • Gathering requirements from different business stakeholders, using your knowledge to get into the detail and devise/evaluate potential solutions in line with the data strategy
  • Owning, building and maintaining a consistent, unambiguous and prioritised backlog in Jira, undertaking a constant analysis of user feedback to meet the needs of the business
  • Facilitating sprint grooming and planning meetings with the engineering team to ensure user stories are estimated, well understood and meet the Definition of Ready
  • Hosting sprint reviews with key stakeholders to demonstrate sprint achievements by the engineering team and provide a feedback mechanism to help with backlog prioritisation
  • Striking a balance between feature development alongside technical debt remediation and bug fixes to drive quality throughout the data platform
  • Understanding the business processes that rely on the data platform including the desired state and what happens in practice
  • Be available to the team to answer queries and make decisions on a daily basis including troubleshooting / problem-solving system-related queries
  • Documenting changes being implemented and produce release notes
  • Promoting continuous learning within the engineering team, providing fast feedback from end-users to help steer outcomes in a collaborative way

  • Experience of working as a Technical Business Analyst or Technical Product Owner as part of a distributed agile engineering/delivery team
  • Experience of developing a thorough understanding of how a system works “under the hood” and experience of using this to devise or evaluate potential solutions
  • Ability to manage stakeholders at executive and senior level to balance delivery priorities
  • Logical and detail-oriented approach to understanding and analysing technical problems
  • Experience delivering business process change as part of software delivery; using empirical methods to support decision making
