About the role
We are looking for an Engineering Team Lead to deliver IT leadership and management for a high-performing, cross-functional Platform team, ensuring compliance with Commify standards and the objectives of the company. You will be an integral part of the global IT leadership team, managing teams of developers and engineers to support, maintain and develop our platforms.

What you’ll be doing
As Engineering Team Lead you will be responsible for:
IT Management
- Be a member of the global IT leadership team
- Provide input into the technical roadmaps owned by IT
- Take ownership of the delivery of technical roadmaps for the platforms for which the role is responsible
- Ensure the Platform Team are applying Commify standards to their work and that their solutions sit within the Commify architectural framework
- Put in place SLAs, KPIs and appropriate tracking and reporting to demonstrate the performance of the platforms for which the role is responsible
- Act as the quality assurance owner for the work of the Platform Team
- Be the escalation point for incidents involving products and platforms, including taking responsibility for incident management and providing appropriate out of hours escalation cover
Delivery Management
- Work with the Engineering Project Manager on resourcing future work and resolving short term resourcing issues
- Put in place SLAs, KPIs and appropriate tracking and reporting to manage the work of the team to the appropriate capacity and priorities
- Work with the Head of IT to ensure technical roadmaps are aligned with project plans and product roadmaps
- Act as a central point of contact for feeding team technical debt and maintenance plans into the central planning repository
- Be an escalation point for build and delivery issues that cannot be resolved by the delivery leads
- Where there is not a delivery lead for a piece of work, take responsibility for working with the internal stakeholders on planning and tracking delivery

Collaboration
- The Engineering Team Lead will be invited to specific guilds and committees relevant to domain and experience
- Work with other delivery teams (such as Professional Services) to review the Commify standards and their application to day to day work, including the Systems Development LifeCycle (SDLC)
What we’re looking for
We’re interested in hearing from candidates with experience in the following areas:
- Strong leadership experience and collaboration across multiple delivery teams
- Strong technical leadership in software as a solution platforms
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
- In-depth knowledge of platform technologies
- Hands on experience of IT operations of a SaaS platform in a Microsoft environment
- Proven experience of people management
- Educated at a degree or equivalent level
It would be great if you also had:
- Demonstrable ability to manage resource capacity across multiple streams of work
- Experience of managing on-premise infrastructure
- Good working knowledge of project management
