About the role 

As an Assistant Management Accountant you will get the opportunity to get involved with all aspects of the finance world. What you’ll be doing

You will support the UK Finance Team with monthly reporting and overhead costs, accruals, capex, cash forecasting and VAT.This role will also involve;

  • Monthly reporting
  • VAT – filing, completion and queries
  • Reconciling all UK trading entity control accounts to ensure correct payments/postings have been made
  • Posting and reviewing the accruals and prepayments for UK entities, including checking and highlighting key areas and variances
  • Preparing all UK trading entity balance sheet reconciliations
  • Cash and banking – preparing the first draft of cash forecast for all UK businesses and managing petty cash for all UK businesses
  • Reviewing all UK expense submissions including company credit card maintenance
  • General ad hoc queries/requests, including ad hoc queries from HMRC in relation to VAT
  • Completion of any Office of National Statistics returns as required

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for an exceptional candidate with a proven track record in a similar role. In particular, we are looking for experience in the following areas:

  • Experience of working in industry (as well as / rather than in an accounting practice)
  • Ability to communicate effectively in person, in writing and over the telephone with a wide variety of individuals
  • Ability to work on own initiative, prioritise work, handle pressure and make day-to-day decisions
  • Strong team ethics in order to work as part of a wider Finance team
  • Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload
  • A persistent person who will follow issues through to resolution
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Flexibility to work as required at busy times such as month-end

It would be great if you also had:

  • Exposure to a comprehensive ERP system (as a user)
  • Working towards a relevant accounting qualification
  • Experience of using Netsuite software
  • Previous exposure to group reporting
  • Knowledge of IFRS
  • Exposure to FX transactions and translations
