Women and technology: software developer Gemma, features in The Times!

Those of you who follow our blog will already be aware of our software developer, Gemma Cameron. Today she gained recognition for women working in technology, after she was featured in The Times following an interview with the national newspaper.
Gemma became intrigued by computers from her early teens and did extensive work experience at the National Grid while at school before going to the University of Salford.
The article talks about how stem-based jobs (science, technology, engineering and maths) have a geeky image to overcome, especially for women.
It’s therefore not suprising that women say there is much to be done to demystify what these type of jobs involve.
“Plenty of women are natural engineers and have a passion and talent for the career. They just need a chance to explore it”, said Gemma, “we really need to change this stereotype”.
