It was a fragile, subdued development team at the Esendex office this morning. That’s because this weekend 13 of us attended HackManchester, a 24 hour coding competition at the Museum of Science and Industry in Manchester.
From 14:00 on Saturday until 14:00 Sunday 230 developers in 72 teams competed to submit the best entry to any of the five sponsors’ programming challenges. At the end, each team made a video showing off their hard work.
Esendex entered three teams. Here are their entries:
QuizBang – An SMS-based multiplayer trivia elimination game
HackTrack – A team planning and activity tracking tool for hack events
TeamSauce – A tool for hack events that helps organisers and sponsors communicate with the teams (challenge finalist!)
Nottingham was well represented at the event. In addition to Esendex’s teams, the University of Nottingham HackSoc were there, entering some brilliant hacks and winning some well-deserved prizes.
Our intrepid team of hackers
Well done to all the teams that entered. We were astounded with what can be achieved in just 24 hours of coding. A big thank you to Gemma Cameron, Joseph Swann and Claire Foster for organising the event. We had enormous fun, and came away inspired but very sleepy.
