At Esendex we’re a healthy and competitive bunch. Every year we sponsor the Esendex Last Minute Tri – the final triathlon of the 2012 season. It’s a 400m swim, followed by a 20km bike ride and a 5km run – all through the lovely countryside around Southwell, Nottinghamshire.
This year there were well over 500 finishers, including over 150 total novices competing in their first triathlon. The overall winners of the event proved that age is really no issue, with the men’s event being won by local legend Andy Tarry (40-44) by a clear 2 minutes. In the women’s event, Bo Haywood (15-19) soon to be a local legend, took the overall title by just 30 secs. The Esendex team (below) consisted of John Armstrong-Prior, Adam Bird, Darren Liddell and Sam Wessel. John and Sam were competing in their first ever triathlon and are now looking forward to doing many more.
As well being the headline sponsor of the event, we also provided an SMS results service for competitors, spectators and fans.
