Below we provide reponses to many of Frequently Asked Questions about our SMS Shortcode service. 

How good is your SMS short code service?

We have direct connections in the UK, which means your SMS messages are delivered within seconds and we will always use the best performing network at anytime to deliver your messages.

What's the difference between a shared and dedicated SMS shortcode?

SMS Short codes are memorable five digit SMS text numbers (e.g. 80806) which are widely used in SMS Marketing services and Premium Rate SMS services.
We can provide shared and dedicated short codes for both premium and non-premium use. Shared SMS Shortcodes require the use of one or more keywords to differentiate you from other companies using the same shortcode.
Each have various advantages - shared shortcodes are cheaper to set up and run however. For an overview of the different pricing options of our SMS shortcodes, please see our Premium Rate SMS prices page.

What Premium Rate SMS tariffs are available for me to charge users who respond to my marketing campaign?

When an SMS shortcode is used for a marketing campaign, the user is only charged their standard network rate. Alternatively, you can use our Freetext service allows users to text you for free, then you are charged a standard network rate to receive the SMS message.

What payment options do you offer?

Customers can choose between Direct Debit or standard account terms.

If I am running a service where my users are sending messages to a short code, how do I receive the messages?

All the messages that you receive can be viewed in your online inbox.

If you are using our API  you can also choose to receive the message in one of the following ways:

1. HTTP(S): to a nominated web page for your application to retrieve

2. Web Service: for your application to retrieve

How long does it take to set up a SMS short code service?

We can set up an SMS Shortcode service for you quickly, within 48 hours and prices start at £40 which includes the cost of a keyword.

What level of support do I get?

Technical Support is provided free of charge. All customers have a named Account Manager who is your first port of call for queries. You can contact them by telephone or email during office hours – 9am-5.30pm Monday to Friday.
