Agile Tester

Role

As a tester you’ll be working on our flagship products and services, with the opportunity to get involved in testing all aspects of our products; from low level infrastructure components communicating with network operators around the world, to web applications used internationally by tens of thousands of users.

Within a highly collaborative and continuously improving team you’ll be delivering  fabulous software that you and your team are proud to say “I built that”. We’ve embraced practices such as Test Driven Development and Automated Acceptance Testing and Pair Programming; and with our mandate of continuous improvement we typically:

• Each attend at least one conference a year (this year several team members went to XP2011 in Madrid)
• Run regular dojos, technical presentations and guided learning sessions
• Dedicate time for research, innovation and learning
• Regularly focus on improvement in team retrospectives

We know we’re not always perfect, but we’re committed to trying to be.

Experience

Our systems are primarily C#/.Net but we’re using and evaluating numerous other technologies too. We’d be interested in candidates who can demonstrate the following:

• Experience writing simple SQL queries and insert/update statements
• Experience with or a willingness to learn a scripting or programming language
• Experience collaborating with programmers and business experts
• Ability to work as part of a self-organising team in which you determine your tasks on a daily basis in coordination with coworkers rather than waiting for work to be assigned to you
• Experience in at least three of the following:
  • Testing web applications including cross browser testing
  • Testing APIs
  • Testing low-level components
  • Exploratory testing, scenarios
  • Usability testing
  • User acceptance testing
  • Functional testing
  • Performance, Load, Stress & Scalability Testing

Any experience in telecommunications will be looked on favourably.
